This is a partial list of the equipment we use. it is far from an all inclusive list!
FARADAY CAGE POWER MIC (EVP 1)
This little bit of equipment is a very sensitive powered onmidirectional microphone. It is mounted inside a faraday cage. This prevents it from being subject to radio waves. EVP's picked up by this device CAN NOT be stray AM / FM or other short wave signals. It is also isolated in a rubber and foam mount which prvents unwanted vibrations from effecting the mic. This little device is a some of experimental equipment I have built to assist in our scientific approach to the paranormal.
EVP 2:
A high power mic mod.
I use this little guy on evp sessions and we have good
results with it. It has to be used in a very quiet area to prevent too much noise. Likewise it cant be too close to the EMF pump or monitors. However, it is well worth the hassle in the returns it gives!
PRO WIDE / FULL SPECTRUM CAMERAS
These are a few of our professional box cameras used with the DVR. I have converted these to be wide spectrum cameras. FULL spectrum means that they see visible light, as we are used to, Infra Red as well as Ultra Violet light. These cameras are capable of a wide range of deployments and little gets past them! We have both auto iris and manual lenses along with the ability to go from wide to zoom which is a great asset in setting up the right camera placements.
If you need one of these for your own team, contact me! The smaller type ones are currently not for sale.
More CCTV Camera's
Extra lenses, and gear all pack away neatly into our deployment cases. Shown: Hi and Med res full spectrums.
Sony DVC Nightshot Camcorders
These are a pair of our compact DVC Sony nightshot cam-corders. These little guys are easy to handle during an investigation and have a night shot night vision feature. Here they are shown with an optional wide angle lens (camera on left) as well as a sony Infrared extender and bracket (camera on th right). At this point we run wide angle lenses on both, but it is not shown here. I wish the makers of these cameras would worry less about 2000 zooms and more real world usefullness such as built in wide angle! After setting up the DVR we have these to carry along or use to allow double coverage.
Night Vison Scopes and Cameras
This is a night vison scope, along with another small camcorder. Not all investigations are at night and having extra DVC cameras is always nice. This one is not IR compatable.
The scope allows for monitoring areas of darkness where cameras are not pointing. This is handy for command persons to assist in watching the outside of a building to insure that people or animals outside are not near our parimeter and do not compromise the investigation due to contamination via noise, shadows lights etc.
DVR: Multi channel digital video recorders
These Digital Video Recorders are very handy when doing investigations. We have a pair. There are several reasons for having two DVR's and not one larger one. First, I like the redundancy it provides. If one fails, we have not lost everything and can still go forward. Secondly, this allows us to have them far apart and not depend upon huge cable lenghts to go where we want. If you are doing a large building you can place one at each end. It is much easier to review if you have two that can be going at one time for playback. For these and other reasons I decided to have two seperate DVR's and I really do like it. As you can see I have mounted these into cases and the monitors are fixed. Open them up, plug in cameras and power and off you go. This makes for very fast set up and removal. These are full 30fps on all channels during recording so we have real time playback as well as the ability to play frame by frame. This recorder also features sound on all channels so we have more audio collection. SUBMINI DVR and MONITOR combo
MORE CAMERA GEAR
Yes, more camera gear! These older Digital 8 cameras are very good night shot camcorders. These are two of many digital still cameras. The one in the front has been converted to deep IR. This is a permanant mod that allows it to go to 1000um. It has been shown to be sensitive to high heat signatures, even though it is NOT a thermal camera.
EMF Detectors and Meters
These are a few of the EMF meters we use. Both AC and DC field detectors are use to establish a base line EMF, locate high EMF areas in a location as well as show deviation and spikes during an investigation.
From Left to Right: 1. New generation K11 with static detection and locking on and off switch. 2. The Soul Sensor (not really an emf meter but included here). 3. Mel 8704. 4. Residumeter DC 5. ELF meter (not shown)
Since taking this photo- the soul sensor has been heavily modified. I have some very interesting experiments and results so far!!
Digital Voice Recorders
Some of the many Digital Voice Recorders we use. Here are a couple of Sony's and the Zoom H2. The Zoom H2 allows 360 degree 5.1 dolby suround sound recording as well as 2 or 4 channel high sample rate / high frequency recrding ability. With the many diffrent choices we have in microphones and other experimental sound recording gear, we get a very flexible deployment of sound gear and our evp's reflect that ability.
EMF PUMP and ION GENERATOR
This is another experimental device. It is an EMF "pump" or generator with a built in Ion Generator. (You can see the ion comb protruding from the front in the photo on the left here). The pic on the left is after some more mods had been made- silly safety things like grills so you dont touch the 7,500 volts inside, newer heavy power cord, those kinds of things... lol.
This device produces a 10 to 15mG AC EMF field at the same time that Negative Ions are being produced. It pumps out 7.5kV from normal line (120) voltage sources! This also has both AC and DC generators within putting out about 20 Gauss DC. We are conducting experiments with this being used in conjuntion with EVP1 as well as our camera gear. If you have looked at this page in the past, you will notice it has changed and this (for now
) is the final form.
UV Light Sources
These are UV light sources. The lamp on the left is a 365nm BL light. The one below is a 350nm light. Both are portable battery powered and only produce UV light. The high portablility makes set up fast and easy. I continue to investigate and experiment with ideas and theory that might allow us to better capture images and other evidence during our investigations.
Need one of these little guys? Contact me!
We have both large and small IR sources that takes our photography and evidence collection into both sides or the spectrum, away from what we see with our eyes. Why UV? Go here and read more.
Here are a few small IR lights.
The item on the right in this pic is made with an old 9 volt case and three IR leds. You snap it on and go- no switches or hassles. It runs for hours.
I wanted to share the project on the left with you. I call it the "IR Tick". This is what you do with that old nokia cell charger and 4 triple chip IR led's. Check forward voltage and current as not all chargers are the same, but if you have extras filling up a drawer like I did, this is a great project. The LED's (on both) are potted in epoxy. I use some blue sticky tack and stick it to a wall and it runs all night with no batteries to worry about. Pointed at the ceiling to bounce the light it adds plenty of IR to light a 8x10 a room. We also like them to highlight objects of interest, trigger objects etc. Total cost of the IR Tick- $5.00!!!
MOTION DETECTION
This is the "Ghost Tracker" wireless motion detector system. It is made up of three motion detectors that send a radio signal back to the receiver to alert us of motion in a protected zone. You can see how these work via my You tube channel or - Check out my ebay auctions and get your own!
We use these not only to detect movement in an area but also to alert to movement outside of an area so as to "protect" the investigation area from contamination from an outside source. Both ways are great and not having to wonder which motion detector went off is great!
HOW MUCH IS IT ALL TOGETHER? well- thats not all.. but it is a lot of it. Missing are boxes of cables, individuals gears (cams and recorders), some mics and other items, but you get the idea.
And all packed up and ready to go:
When we arrive we are fully equipped to conduct an investigation with the highest chance of documenting what we find. Everything from laptop computers and high tech devices and cameras to a standard compass is used. All of the equipment you see here is waisted if not properly used and deployed. That is why our members train with the equipment we use. Each member has an important role. Good communication, gear, personal skills, technical ability and desire sets us apart from the others. This is only a portion of what we use. All of this is for nothing if not used well!
